Singapore CPI Enters Negative Zone In November

Posted on Dec 23, 2014

Singapore's consumer prices declined at a faster-than-expected pace into a negative zone in November, mainly on account of base effects associated with fluctuations in car certificate of entitlement premiums, figures from the Ministry of Trade and Industry showed Tuesday. The consumer price index fell 0.3 percent year-on-year in November, faster than an expected 0.2 percent decline. Consumer prices entered the negative zone for the first time since December 2009.
